Summary

From the information that I gathered and calculated I have realized just how much more water my whole household uses. For instance with the water calculator from Columbia the comment given to me was that every year my household uses 97,090 gallons per capita more than the average household in Chelan PUD service area. For Hunter Washer after putting in all my numbers I was able to see the recommended usage of water which was 280 KL/Year and my household was using 432 KL/Year. Both websites told me that my most usage of water was the bathroom and gave me ways to help conserve water such as replacing my shower head with a three-star WELS or reduce our shower times by just line minute which can save 4 million gallons of water in our region. Though at the beginning of the assignment while looking over the water bills from each month it provided me with the neighborhood average and the SAWS residential average. For the month of June the average of my was neighborhood 6,961 and SAWS was 8,643, and from looking back at my water usage for the month (2,992) it was almost 1/3 the amount in my neighborhood. In July the neighborhood used 6,961 gallons on average and SAWS was 8,643, and August was 7,194 gallons in my neighborhood and 10,027 average gallons for SAWS. After comparing my water bill to the average of some areas I believed that my usage if water was too much, but when you compare my usage to SAWS it even my neighborhood I saw that my household uses less than the average household.
